On April 1, 1998, the Nebraska Unicameral passed LB 1161 establishing the Geologists Regulation Act. This Act (Statutes 81-3501 to 81-3541) provides for the certification and licensure of professional geologists in Nebraska whose activities may affect public health, safety and welfare. The Nebraska Board of Geologists was created to implement the Geologists Regulation Act.http://www.geology.state.ne.us/
